The Morgan State GOP Debate Was Great!
Well, I just got home from the debate, and I have to say that it was phenomenal. The candidates really showed that they have the courage to lead the country by facing the tough questions they were asked at this debate. I’d like to highlight who was there:
- Ron Paul
- Mike Huckabee
- Sam Brownback
- Duncan Hunter
- Tom Tancredo
- Alan Keyes
And who wasn’t there:
- Rudy Giuliani
- John McCain
- Mitt Romney
- Fred Thompson

When Ron Paul showed up, the applause and cheering was deafening. Even he was shocked as far as I could see.
After the debate, I walked up and got his signature. It was great. I was about to get my picture with him, but he was pulled away to go to the Spin Room. Some Paul fans and I ran through the pouring rain for about 200 yards and arrived outside the building he was going to completely soaked. After about 10 minutes, he stepped out of the car, and the three of us greeted him. He shook all of our hands and thanked us for being there.
I hung out in the Spin Room for a while, but the press wouldn’t stop questioning him, so this was as good as I could do for a picture:

you are aware of the irony of the GOP at a PBS sponsored debate right?
If Ron Paul was elected he would kick cookie monster out on the curb, shutting down the funding for the sesame street projects. And without any place to live and no program to help with his addiction, and with no resort but crime to get some money for his cookie fix.

Actually, he would only do that if Congress allowed him to. And, even though CPB funds about 27% of PBS, that tab could be picked up by the people and the corporations that already support the other 73% of it. I don’t know about most folks, but if I knew that without my contributions that Bert and Ernie would have to start hooking for a living, I’d give some cash to PBS.
The whole point of Paul’s plan is capitalism. Just because the government isn’t involved in sponsoring things like PBS doesn’t mean they won’t get sponsored.
