“Are we fighting a war on terror or aren’t we? Was it or was it not
started by Islamic people who brought it to our shore on
September 11, 2001? Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally
murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from
our nation’s capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ?
Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible,
burning or crushing death that day, or didn’t they?

We are fighting a war called the War on Terror, yes. It was started because of
terrorists attacking the twin towers. But, the next rhetorical question is misleading.

And I’m supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was “desecrated” when
an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?…
Well, I don’t.
I don’t care at all.

Well, personally, I don’t care either, and I think it’s pretty silly to care about a material object that much. But, to a very large number of people – a number of people that is larger than the total number of Americans by more than 4 times – it does matter. I’m sorry you are so selfish that you believe that the only thing that matters is yourself and your kin. People are people.

Apparently, people who probably align themselves with your beliefs do things like this in our American Supreme Court, which is just as disrespectful.

I’ll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for
incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.
I’ll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start
caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in
Saudi Arabia

Wait – if Osama bin Laden turned himself in you’d change your whole outlook on Islam? That’s interesting. Why are you judging 1/5th of the world based on the actions of one extremest group? Would you like the people of the world to judge Christianity based on the KKK? Wouldn’t that be great?

You have to stop thinking from your self-centered point of view, and put yourself in other people’s shoes. Do a little introspection.

You know, Pul Pot killed over 1.7 million innocent Cambodians, and he never “repented.” Guess what we did. Nothing. He died of natural causes under house arrest. Now please, don’t tell me that 3,000-some-odd Americans comes anywhere close to equating to that. Bin Laden needed to be hunted down and killed, but we were distracted by Saddam Hussein. I can’t stand when people value some human lives over others. That’s what racists do. It’s complete bigotry.

Also, Saudi Arabia has the right to do that – it’s called sovereignty. Many books are banned for the same reason the Bible is banned in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia does not endorse the belief in the Christian faith, and considers it harmful to their society, so they ban the Bible. This Book is banned in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, and most of mainland Europe. You know why? Because they don’t believe what’s written in it, and consider it harmful to their society. Now, don’t get me wrong, I believe the Holocaust happened, but I don’t think a critical book should be banned. If I wrote a book that says the Civil War never happened, would it be banned in America?

But, the fact is that a country should have the right to ban books, or else we better drop all the book bans around the world. Hear Hear! Is this what you’re calling for?

I’ll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking
off Nick Berg’s head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed
throat.
I’ll care when the cowardly so-called “insurgents” in Iraq and
Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their
own religion by hiding in mosques.

Hopefully, those terrorists have been dispatched by our fine military. Civilian casualties happen in all wars, and some are quite gruesome. Some of our soldiers have died this way too. It’s really terrible

An insurgent is someone who revolts against their civil authority. What do you mean “so-called?” They are insurgents. What would you expect Americans to do if China’s military was occupying America? Sit inside and wait? NO! Revolt, right! Well, that’s exactly what they’re doing! Don’t be such a hypocrite!

Obviously, hiding in mosques hasn’t saved everyone. Would using churches for cover disrespect God if we were invaded? I mean, it would be really cowardly for anyone to protect a church using your reasoning. I sincerely think that our military stops caring about religious sanctity when their own men are at stake, as they should. Also, coming out in the open is not “fighting like a man,” as you put it, but more like “fighting like an idiot.” Our own soldiers use cover too. I don’t appreciate you insulting their tactics – you should support our troops.

I agree with this statement. Suicide bombing is idiotic.

I’ll care when the American media stops pretending that their First
Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead
of the United States Constitution’s Bill of Rights.
In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up
an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don’t care.
When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have
been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured:

I’m completely lost on what you mean by the first part about the First Amendment. Are you saying that the American media should shut its mouth? Including Fox News? Wow, I’d be really happy if Fox was taken off the air. I don’t think you mean that though.

Apparently, you don’t believe in the Geneva Convention, which prohibits the torture of prisoners of war. I’ll have you know that in the past, there have been instances where Americans have not been tortured due only to that convention. Are you saying that allowing some Americans to be tortured is worth it so we can torture others? That’s a bit crazy, really. Otherwise, you’re saying that we shouldn’t have to adhere to the Geneva Convention, but everyone else has to.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not
to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank:

I care, but I assume if it was the utilitarian thing to do, then it was for the best.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat,
and fed “special” food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining
that his holy book is being “mishandled,” you can absolutely believe in
your heart of hearts: I don’t care.

You really hate the Geneva Convention, again.

And oh, by the way, I’ve noticed that sometimes it’s spelled “Koran”
and other times “Quran.” Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and, you guessed it, I
don’t care !!

Sometimes it’s spelled “Jehovah” and sometimes it’s spelled “God” and sometimes it’s spelled “Yahweh.” Whatever – I don’t care either. What’s your point?

If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail
friends Sooner or later, it’ll get to the people responsible for this
ridiculous behaviour!

So you’re saying that you’re tied to a terrorist through some line of “email friends?” Thats a pretty interesting claim. It’s probably true since most of the world is connected through the internet in some fashion.

If you don’t agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you
choose the latter, then please don’t complain when more atrocities
committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country!

I did hit the delete button at first, but then I decided that this was worth thinking about. I complain when atrocities are committed by people of all faiths in our great country. Why
be so prejudice of Muslims? Are you calling for a Christian state which oppresses Muslims? Sounds like the inverse of some other countries. This is one of the most hypocritical things I’ve ever read.

I have another quote that I would like to add AND…….I hope you
forward all this.

“If we ever forget that we’re One Nation Under God, then we will be a

Oh man! You totally just ruined all your credibility (if you still had any left). We have only been a “nation under god” since the 1950’s! It is wrong to push religion on people – this is exactly what our enemies, the terrorists, do on a daily basis.

Here are some more Reagan quotes:

While he did state, in a way, that he thought our entire nation should be Christian, which is not really constitutional, I agree with many of the quotes above. He was wrong that a deviation from Christianity would bring down democracy. This is proven by the first democrats, who were not Christian.

One last thought for the day:

In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the Anti-American
sentiment and negativity, we should remember England’s Prime Minister
Tony Blair’s words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his
Parliament members why he believes so much in America , he said: “A
simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want
in… And how many want out.”

There has been very little anti-American sentiment as of late, but there has been lots of criticism of the Bush Administration and our current foreign policy. I think the majority of Americans are pro-America – it’s our country! Even the harshest critics of Bush and the war do not want to overthrow democracy. As far as that Blair quote goes, that’s actually a pretty bad measure of a country. How many white Germans fled Germany when Hitler was in power? Not all that many. There’s a reason for that – it’s called nationalism. We love our country so much that even if we disagree with the acts of the current governing body, we have faith that someday it will change. Why would we just bail every time we had bad leadership? That’s a complete defeatist attitude, which isn’t in line with our society at all.

Only four defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

1. Jesus Christ

2. The American G. I.

3. The British Soldier and

4. The Canadian Soldier

One died for your soul, the other 3 for your freedom.

You forgot the Soviets (World War II).

There are others. Military allegiances are basically contracts to die for each other. We have formed quite a few entangling alliances. How do these not count? It may be a little higher level than “our people will die for you,” but “we will harbor your soldiers” basically means the same thing.

You shouldn’t use G.I. either technically since that means General Infantry. There are many US Armed Forces that do not fall into this category. Submarine engineers are just as brave. Sorry for the nitpicking.

And since you added Jesus in there, I’d just like to add in good old Mary Dyer. She was killed by Christians for being a different kind of Christian. She was killed in support of our rights to religious freedom, which you are treading upon with your statements.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET ALL OF THEM.

Wow – that’s one powerful ending. This lady’s totally getting my vote.
