Gnome Applications Menu gone!
So, I found myself in distress because the Applications menu in the lab was blank. Turns out that /usr/share/applications was modded to 700 and owned by root :(. This makes for bad mojo. Changed to 755 and everything was peachy.

really…. that happened to the whole lap too. I wonder what update rolled in and caused that trama
